Why no game on Monday?

It's a Bank Holiday next Monday but Hereford United supporters haven't got a game to watch.

In fact there are only two League games, at Middlesborough and Sunderland. However the Conference has a full fixture list.

The probable reason for no games is the international fixtures next weekend. What they have to do with League Two is questionable.

Bank Holiday Monday has traditionally been a day when families watch games.

The last August Monday game at Edgar Street was in 2003 when Aldershot were the visitors. It attracted some 4985 fans who watched a thrilling match which the Bulls won 4-3.

Why a midweek fixture couldn't be played on Monday is unknown. Perhaps the Tuesday September 12th home game against Wycombe could have been brought forward.

Whilst attendances can vary for different reasons, it's probable that a fixture on Monday might have brought an extra 1,000 fans to a game resulting in around £10,000 more income for the Bulls.
