Yates Investigated By FA

The FA have confirmed that Kidderminster Harriers manager Mark Yates is being investigated for his alleged headbutt on Exeter midfielder Lee Elam.

An FA spokesman told the local press: "We are aware of an incident that occurred at Kidderminster. We have received a report from the officials and we are in the process of making further enquiries, which will involve video footage and so on."

Referee Amy Rayner is now believed to have red carded Yates following the incident, which left Elam with a black eye, and the incident is included in her report to the FA. However Kidderminster themselves appear to have buried their heads in the sand over the matter, with their official site not even acknowledging the matter and chairman Barry Norgrove stating to the local press that he had not spoken to Yates since the game and does not intend to do anything until after tonight's match with Dagenham:

"We haven't done anything at all yet, we're just going to sit down and see whether the FA send us anything. There's a lot of stories going round and it's half a dozen of one and half a dozen of the other at the moment. We haven't got any proof and we've got to look at the video and wait for the referee's report which will probably come through tomorrow."

Yates is widely reported to have marched 60 yards down the touchline before confronting Elam, with not one report blaming Elam for the incident.
