Boston Players Can't Train

Boston's players are unable to train, because they cannot afford to get to training sessions ahead of their "do or die" last day match with Wrexham.

Manager Steve Evans told their official site that he may not be able to hold training sessions because his players, now 10 weeks without pay, simply cannot afford petrol: "I am not sure how many players will train this week as some of them have simply run out of money and cannot therefore travel into the training ground. I feel for us all after being put in this situation, but we have a week left to fight and I am going to make sure we all do that."

Evans expects a capacity crowd at the Racecourse, but Boston may have only around 400 fans out of the 12,000 with just three coaches currently booked. He may see just eight professionals turn out for the game with David Galbraith, Paul Ellender, and Colin Cryan all likely to miss out: "It looks like we will travel to Wrexham with only eight professionals and a number of youth team players but if that is what we have to do, then we get on with it. The most important thing is that the Football League select an experienced match referee and not someone who will be swayed by a large and vocal home support."
