It's four years since Wolves last came to Edgar Street

It's four years since Wolverhampton Wanderers last played a friendly at Edgar Street - they visit again tomorrow. The game took place on a very warm Monday evening in the middle of July 2003 in front of 1895 spectators which included 234 away fans.

It was the first of three friendlies for Hereford United against the big three West Midlands clubs as West Brom and Birmingham were to visit in the next couple of weeks.

The game was drawn 1-1 with Rob Purdie, playing up-front, scoring for the Bulls and Adam Proudlock for Wolves. The Wolves squad had been spilt for the fixture as they had another friendly at Bristol Rovers the same evening.

The Hereford team that evening was Matt Baker, Gethin Jones, Rob Sawyers, Jamie Pitman, Andy Tretton, Tony James, Danny Williams, Michael Rose, David Brown, Rob Purdie, Paul Parry.

Subs: Richard Teesdale, Lee Kendal, Dean Craven, Danny Bertram, Kevin Gwillam and Danny Moon.

Steve Guinan, one of the only two Hereford United player from that era with the club today, missed the game because of a knee injury. Ben Smith, the other player, missed out with a ankle knock.

Dave Jones, now with Cardiff City, was the Wolves manager at the time. He watched the game whilst one of his coaches, ex-Bull Keith Downing, was on the touchline.
