Blanchett Loan Extended

Hereford United have confirmed a third month at Edgar Street for defender Danny Blanchett.

The Peterboro man has started 12 games since arriving from London Road. His time at The Posh appears to be limited after new boss Mark Cooper signed fellow central defender Exodus Geohaghon from former club Kettering this morning.

The extension of Blanchett's loan leaves Mark Marshall as the only loanee not signed up until at least the New Year. Marshall had an impressive first month at Edgar Street, but a change in formation saw all the Bulls' wingers dropped to the bench and he has not featured in any of the last three games.

With Matt Done, Jonny Godsmark, and Marc Pugh all also warming the bench Marshall is likely to be considered a luxury given the current size of the squad.

UPDATE 4.30pm: Marshall has returned to Swindon.

Ahead of Thursday's loan deadline there is likely to be little inwards movement at Edgar Street though, in seasons past, Graham Turner has opted to bring in a loan or non-contract keeper to see the club through the Christmas period. Last season Jose Veiga was the man brought in.
