Williamson to Referee on Saturday

Iain Williamson from Berkshire is set to referee next Saturday's round two FA Cup-tie between Hereford United and Lincoln City.

BN believes that it will be the first time Williamson has officiated at Edgar Street.

To date this season Williamson has given out 56 yellow and 2 red cards during the 15 matches he has been in charge.

Meanwhile Hereford United have said that three former players will be at Edgar Street for Saturday's Cup-tie.

Tony Gough and Ricky George from the team of 72 will be present along with Peter Heritage who was a striker with the Bulls from 1990 to 1992.

Gough was the captain and George scored the winning goal against Newcastle.

"With eight minutes to go we were on our way out and then the great man pulled the trigger and suddenly we had hope, we were in with a chance," said George.

"I was the man who just happened to get on the end of the winner which bobbled into the net. We were a great team, a good bunch of lads who gave everything we had."

Both Gough and George will be on the pitch at half-time. Whether George will try and re-create his goal, as Ronnie Radford did a few weeks ago when he was a guest, remains to be seen.

Heritage holds the record for the fastest goal scored at Edgar Street.

It was in a game against Lincoln City on the 28th September 1991 when Heritage scored in just 14 seconds after running on to a through ball from Simon Brain. And to cap it all the Bulls won the game 3-0.

As well as playing for Hereford he also played for Hythe Town whom the Bulls defeated in the first round of the Cup.
