The Bulls lost today's friendly at Forest Green 3-0.
Teenage trialist keeper James Wren, who started the match with Adam Bartlett on the bench, allowed a shot to squirm from his grasp for the first before he gifted striker Reece Styche a second when his distribution let him down. Rob Purdie saw an early penalty saved.
Wren, previously on Walsall's books, was the only new trialist on show, with Danny Williams and Albert Jarrett both getting another chance to impress during the second half. Youth teamer Nathan Perkins also had some game time.
Still missing today were Nicky Featherstone, Stefan Stam, and Dan Connor. Featherstone is expecting results of a scan on Monday to determine the reasons for his injury.
