Yates Speaks On Derby Clash

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates has spoken to the Gloucester Echo ahead of Saturday's match, telling the paper he wants a better performance from his side than the loss to Wimbledon last weekend:

"I want us to get back to where we were, how we were playing. The Torquay performance was excellent, and the Wimbledon one was riddled with mistakes that cost us goals and we were chasing the game and didn't have enough to turn it around."

When asked about Jamie Pitman and the Bulls' current plight, Yates said: "He's a good guy, no problem. But that's not my concern. My concern is three points on Saturday.

"We know their strengths and weaknesses. Every manager that's played them this season says what a decent footballing side they are. They've caused problems, had chances against them, been a bit unlucky at times.

"They've always had a tradition lately of trying to play, getting the ball down, and I've seen them in pre-season and earlier in the season and they did, they played good football. We've got to try and make sure we don't let them play good football, try to impose ourselves on them."
