We Can't Finish Admits Stam

Stefan Stam who wore the Hereford United captain's armband this afternoon was pleased with how the team played against Crewe but admitted that scoring goals is their biggest problem.

"I thought we did very well especially second half," Stam told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We were all over them but we couldn't finish the chances. It's so annoying.

"I think we did really well, we passed it well, we created chances, we worked very hard for each other.

"I think they had three shots on target, we were just so unlucky.

"We are really enjoying it with O'Kelly, we've just got to get some results and score a few goals."

Asked about young striker Richard Peniket, Stam said he did really well.

"He works hard and had a few chances. He did really well for a young lad, proud of him."

Stam felt Crewe were a very decent team.

"They are a really good team, they'll get promoted."
