News Round-Up

The FA have upheld Northwich's appeal against expulsion from the Northern Premier League. Instead of the two division drop, the Vics will now only drop one tier this summer. Meanwhile, Woodley Sports have ambitious plans despite their own FA enforced relegation from the same division. They have appointed former Aston Villa man Peter Withe on a two year full time deal as manager.

Crawley have handed two of their scholars professional deals, just a year after setting up their Centre of Excellence. Torquay are trialling former Southend and Swindon midfielder Craig Easton, who left Dunfermline in January after his short term deal expired. Bradford fans have named defender Luke Oliver as their Player of the Year.

Port Vale are awaiting a response today from the local council on whether they will accept the CVA offer on the table from Keith Ryder. Negotiations are still ongoing on how much of his £1.4million offer will be paid up front. Meanwhile, the Valiants say they will offer striker Marc Richards the best deal they can in a bid to keep him at the club. Shrewsbury are claimed to be still trying to sign the 29 year old, while other clubs are also reported to be interested.

Luton moved into pole position for the final Conference play-off spot with a goalless draw at Gateshead last night. They go into Saturday's final games needing only a draw at Champions Fleetwood to become the final side into the hunt. For Kidderminster to overhaul them, the Harriers will need to beat Mansfield with Luton losing or - if Luton draw - win by at least 13 clear goals.
