Willets Departs Edgar Street

Jamie Willets has become the third Hereford player to leave the club in eight days, an article on the official website announced this morning:

Defender Jamie Willets has left Edgar Street after discussions with manager Peter Beadle.

The former Stourport man, 24, has not started a League match for the club since August and leaves in order to get more game time.

Beadle said: "Jamie was immense for us last season. His arrival helped us massively after a rocky start and he was a big part of the great run we had.

"This season hasn't worked out for him. He's had some family issues that he's spoken about on social media, which he's very active on.

"He came to me after the Salisbury match about some messages he'd received about his performance that weren't nice and deeply upsetting for him.

"We agreed to see how the month panned out but he hasn't been getting the game time he wants so we've agreed this morning that he'll go elsewhere.

"Jamie's hugely grateful for the opportunity he's had here and the experience of the last year has been something he and his family will never forget, but he's decided his future lies elsewhere and I would like to wish him the very best for wherever that may be and so now the search begins for another centre back to come in as soon as possible."

Everyone at the club would like to wish Jamie all the best for the future.

Update: It's understood Willets could be joining Alvechurch.
