Southern Prem Round-Up

A round up of yesterday's games in the Southern Premier Division written by Jack Moore.

Banbury United, King`s Lynn Town and Kettering Town all won on Saturday to make it three wins from the opening three games of the Evo-Stik League South Premier season.
Banbury gained a convincing 3-0 win at Top Field against Hitchin Town to maintain their 100% winning record for the season and retain top spot in the fledgling table.
George Nash gave the Puritans a 10th minute lead that Jefferson Louis after 62 minutes and Luke Carnell 8 minutes later both added to.
The Linnets condemned Dorchester Town to a 2-0 home defeat with goals from Michael Clunan from the penalty spot just before half-time and then Craig Parker 8 minutes after the break.
The Poppies won 3-0 at Latimer Park in front of 557 against a Basingstoke Town side who have yet to record a point.
Brett Solkhon`s 25th minute opener for the hosts was added to by Rene Howe on 77 minutes and teenager Ben Baker in stoppage time.
Newly-promoted Hereford FC lost their unbeaten record when Lee Togwell`s goal right on half-time eventually proved enough for Slough Town at Edgar Street in front of a terrific 2,644 crowd.
Relegated Gosport Borough and Bishop`s Stortford as well as Dunstable Town all join Basingstoke in losing for a third successive game.
Gosport lost 3-2 at Privett Park to newly-promoted Royston Town, who came back from being a 13th minute Ousman Saidy goal down to win, thanks to Josh Castiglione after 18 minutes, Danny Braithwaite just after the break and then Ryan Ingrey 4 minutes from time after Liam Kimber had equalised on 72 minutes.
Bishop`s Stortford lost by the same scoreline, also at home, against Weymouth.
And they too took an early first minute lead through Jason Williams before Ben Thomson wiped that out with a brace in the 14th and 18th minutes.
Darren Foxley levelled 16 minutes from time, but just 3 minutes later, Mark Travers won it for the Terras.
Dunstable also went down at home – Merthyr Town inflicting a 6-0 drubbing on the Duns at Creasey Park.
It was 2-0 at half-time through Corey Jenkins and a Stuart Fleetwood penalty.
But the Martyrs hit four more in the second period from Jenkins and Fleetwood again as well as Kyle Copp and Ashley Evans.
Redditch United and Biggleswade Town joined Slough, Weymouth and Royston in recording second victories.
Redditch triumphed 3-1 at newly-promoted Farnborough with new signing Andi Thanoj, Dior Angus and Spencer Weir-Daley outgunning Perry Coles, while the Waders won at Frome Town by the odd goal in five.
They led through a Kristian Miller own goal and a Jack Bowen effort before Jon Davies responded from the spot 9 minutes into the second period.
Shane Hill restored Biggleswade`s two-goal advantage 3 minutes later, with Darren Jefferies pulling a second back for the hosts 10 minutes from time.
The other three matches all ended in 1-1 draws.
James Fry had Stratford Town in front after just 8 minutes before Dion Sembie-Ferris levelled on 21 minutes for St Neots Town, while Gareth Price had Kings Langley ahead after 31 minutes at St Ives Town before Ben Seymour-Shove equalised on 69 minutes, and goals at either end of the game at the Meadow saw Chesham United and promoted Tiverton Town share the spoils – Oran Swales early on for the Generals and Jamie Short in stoppage time for the Yellows.
